English As A Foreign Language
Introduction
This full-time course is designed to prepare foreign students for admission into Primary, Secondary and Pre-university institutions in Singapore. Foreign students will have a good basic knowledge of the standard of English Language needed at their level to pass any Entrance Examinations required for any private/government institutions. Class exercises will help students to develop an extensive vocabulary and grammar pattern. Class-work comprises English grammar and usage, vocabulary and comprehension, close passages and composition.
On completion of this course, students can transfer to a private/government primary, secondary or pre-university institution.
Course Outline
This programme follows the Singapore school syllabus and is structured into four language levels:
- Elementary
- Low intermediate
- Upper intermediate
- Advanced
- 15 Hours per week
- 6 Months (24 weeks) per level
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required. Students will sit for a Placement Test based on Vocabulary, Grammar and Comprehension to determine the level at which they should begin the course.
Students who wish to enrol in this Course for the intention of going to a government primary or secondary institution must be aged 16 years or below.
